Bar & Restaurant

Second only to the skill and originality of our chef, is the sourcing of local Borders’ produce. We are proud of our beef produced on the family farm and other meat and poultry that comes from local producers, where quality is allied to best farming practice. Our free range eggs are produced just two miles away and our fresh fish is caught or landed locally.

We are particularly proud to use the beef provided by the family farm (four miles away). We get free range eggs from chickens two miles away from a local farmer.

Michel, our chef, is a keen fisherman and he smokes our marinated salmon. We make our own bread. We believe that the quality of our produce and the skills in the kitchen provide the basis for interesting menus, often offering that something a little bit different; we are confident that the Allanton Inn gives a new opportunity for eating good food at reasonable prices in the Borders.

In addition to the bar area, we have two dining areas, offering the same selection of nibbles and dining menu. We have daily blackboard specials in addition to the regularly changing menu. One of the dining areas is available for private dining accommodating up to 18 people; personalised menus can be arranged. This is a perfect venue for shoot dinners, celebrations and family gatherings.

Child Friendly

Children are welcome here, and in addition to our children's menu, dishes from the main menu are available in smaller portions

Barbeques

On warmer days dining and BBQs are offered in the enclosed beer garden, or you can use this great space just to soak up the summer sun and unwind.

All food can be complemented with our selection of fine wines, real ales and other drinks for your enjoyment from our well stocked bar. The wines have been selected individually for a wine list that is under continuous review for quality and price.
