Location

Allanton is located ten miles inland from Berwick-upon-Tweed, ten miles from Coldstream and six miles from Duns. The English border is only five miles away.

Scotland's capital city, Edinburgh, is an hour’s drive northwest from Allanton and fifty minutes on the train from Berwick. Edinburgh is a world renowned tourist destination, especially famous for its festivals, including the International Festival with its Fringe and the Film Festival. Newcastle is slightly more than an hour’s drive and fifty minutes on the train from Berwick.

Allanton Village itself has a children's play park and enjoyable walks to the river and in the surrounding countryside. The village of Chirnside is one mile away with local amenities such as bank, post office, chemist, doctors and shops.
